I vigorously oppose extending Appleway east from University for the following reasons.
It will not improve eastbound traffic flow, because there will be the same number of stop streets as there are now on Sprague.  Perhaps a few seconds between University and Sullivan at bst’

The additional Appleway stop signs will severely and adversely affect north and south bound traffic on those through streets, as cars back up between Sprague and Appleway to the extent of impeding E/W traffic.  These new stops unfairly penalize Spokane Valley residents.

Why waste money undoing the couplet that has increased traffic flow. Use the money to extend the one-way couplet, with stop lights not stop signs to at least Sullivan Road, prefferably all the way to Liberty Lake. Use some money to synchronise the traffic lights to improve flow.
I have no trouble shopping at local businesses in the couplet area, and frequently do so.

I use the couplet very much, and would like it extended, at least to Evergreen. As to two-way traffic on Sprague, we have “Been There,Done That”, That why we started the couplet. The business community thinks they are loosing trade
because of the oneway street set-up. I think they
are loosing because of the developement going on,
on the Sullivan Rd. and on Broadway area.
I still traid with business’s on Sprague, but they don’t have the big box stores on the one-way
section of Sprague. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to express my openion.
